Santena, Turin, 29 August – PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) was very pleased to receive Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Motorsport Director of Digital Engineering Transformation Geoffrey Willis at the PETRONAS Global Research & Technology Centre here, today.
Willis was on his first visit of the state-of-the-art facility and home of PETRONAS Fluid Technology Solutions™, the winning formula behind Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Motorsport’s four-consecutive FIA Formula 1 World Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championship victories.
Willis received a tour led by PLI Chief Technology Officer, Eric Holthusen who talked about how PETRONAS has benefitted from its technical partnership with Mercedes in Formula 1, especially in the advancement of fluid technology, product design and delivery from track to road, as well as in capability development.
Holthusen also shared about a GLOBAL search for a PETRONAS Trackside Fluid Engineer, which was announced at the British Grand Prix in July. The candidate will join PETRONAS’ Formula 1 technical team and be mentored by incumbent engineers to ultimately lead our track side activities.
