The arrival of the guests
The guests are accredited at the Guest House. A certain excitement is in the air, increased by the huge tarp that is hiding the structure, building suspense.
Yesterday, today, and tomorrow are told through the vehicles exposed
Six cars and two trucks to symbolize PLI and FCA journey through past, present, and future: 500 Abarth 695, Alfa Romeo 75 Super Turismo*, Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600*, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, 124 Abarth storica, 124 Abarth and the IVECO Z Truck .
And a surprise: The PETRONAS IVECO Trakker 4×4, coming directly from the Dakar Rally of 2017.
Giuseppe D’Arrigo takes the floor
A welcome to the guests and an introduction on the work done in the direction of the new Global Research & Technology Centre characterise the speech of PETRONAS Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), who does the honors.
The discovery of the new Global Research & Technology Centre
3, 2, 1…and with a powerful dramatic effect, the tarp that covered the structure slowly slides to the floor to reveal in all its beauty the Global Research & Technology Centre.
The show goes on
The “unveiling” effect is accompanied by another spectacular moment: a fluid experience performance. A performer has been called to interpret with its movements, PLI history through a flow of fluids, while three drones take off becoming part of the show.
The tour begins

2018, year of technology
The key word of this year for PETRONAS Lubricants International is only one: technology. In this direction, PLI has already done and will do a lot. First, working constantly on its fluids to make them efficient, sustainable and reliable. Then delivering, together with its partner IVECO, the Z Truck.
Finally, with the opening of the new Research & Technology centre, giving a new value to the term technology: a sum of talent, innovation and research.
The Z Truck, the expression of a great technology
A concept truck with advanced aerodynamics, heat recovery systems for long-distance transport, a range of 2.200 km and extremely low CO2 emissions in the environment. A jewel of engineering and sustainability that looks to the future of road transport.
An aggregator of talents
The new Global Research & Technology Centre was born under the sign of talent. A pole that will attract the best professionals and engineers to develop innovative products. Because the value of technology must go hand in hand with the human value. In this respect, a recruitment plan is ready, oriented towards the recruiting of brilliant mechanical engineers, chemical engineers and chemists.
One of PLI main objectives is to valorize people and their potential. This is why PLI invited to the preview of the new Global Research &Technology Centre its historical employees, both witnesses to the history of the company and architects of its future
